My action packed weekend began on Friday with speakers, photo shoots, meeting new friends and being surrounded my like minded fitness entrepreneurs. I was away from my kids and enjoyed adult only time for 3 days. Today just happened to be one of those days. Monday morning, back to reality. Rushing to get kids fed. Hurrying to the gym before I drop my son off at school to get my sprints in. Running around like a chicken with my head cut off for the limited doing run errands. Picking pick up my son 2 hours later, eating lunch, watching a baseball game, rushing home for a meeting, grocery shopping, swimming, breaking up fights between the kids…..you get where I’m going. Sound familiar? I’m not complaining, it’s just another day in the life of a busy mom on the go.
Needless to say, I packed my food to travel in the front seat with me as I normally do, but nothing sounded good. My snack consisting of chicken and half an apple was not going to cut it today. The Cheese It’s were calling my name. I started out with having just one. That turned into a huge handful. Lunch of Brown rice, Salsa Chicken and Veggies was not going to cut it either. I opted for a bowl of cereal an hour after my packed lunch was eaten. Today I am just rolling with the punches. I’m not giving up on my healthy lifestyle, I’m just giving in to some temptations. I’m not beating myself up for getting off track, I’ll just bounce right back tomorrow. Sometimes we need to derail, and fall off the wagon to get fired up refocused. Just as much as I motivate and hold others accountable, I need the same for myself.
If this type of day sounds familiar, pick yourself up. Get back on the wagon, and start fresh tomorrow. Binging one day won’t make you gain weight. Just like dieting one day won’t make you lose it. It’s all about consistency and habit. My kids thanking me for taking them to the ball game, then swimming, made eating the Cheese It’s and falling off the wagon worth while. Life’s simple pleasures!
